How long have you been in the automotive industry?
I've been in the industry since 1998.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt especially proud or recognized?
The moment that really stood out to me was just an ordinary day at CarShop. I happened to be doing a catch-up with our AVP, and then he wanted to catch up with me as well. It's really his way of staying connected with all of us. He believes in my ability to connect with everyone at CarShop, and in the way I handle all the people-related aspects of the business. Not only did he ask about new things happening in my life, but he also followed up on things we had talked about months earlier. He takes a genuine interest in me as a person, and me as a leader at CarShop. After we caught up, he went out of his way to thank me for everything I do for CarShop.
What excites you most about the future of the automotive industry?
What excites me the most is change. To find new ways to connect with our customers and our people. How do we engage the next generation of people who may or may not be "car people"? How to we spark excitement about the business?
What are your favorite hobbies or interests?
Yoga every day to clear my mind and strengthen my body. I make time every day to focus on myself so I can be the best mother and leader I can be. The two interests I'm passionate about are Moto GP and Formula 1. Race time is a sacred time in my house. I'm a proud member of the Ducatisti!
If you could go back and give your younger self one piece of career advice, what would it be?
Always take a chance. You can't succeed if you don't take the chance. Even if you get a failure, the growth from being willing to take chances is the real win.
